The Buddha was simply a teacher
of meditations and contemplations
that (when properly practiced)
make us more loving and more peaceful.
He wanted neither our faith,
nor our rituals,
nor even our prayers.
If he lived on Dagobah
perhaps he, in the voice of Yoda,
would have said:
“The Superstitious Nonsense
of Ignorant Imbeciles,
Religion is.”
