If you crave feelings of devotion to an entity do not be ashamed. Every healthy mammalian child is wired to feel devotion for their parents as if their lives depended upon it.
If you’ve transitioned from Christianity to Buddhism and miss those feelings may I suggest chanting the “Praises and Requests to the Twenty-one Taras?” Any good hearted Lama will email you a PDF of it, if you but only ask.
And once you’ve completed your recitation, and you’re filled with the bliss of devotion you could use those sensations to fuel your practice of Dhyana, Sutra Mahamudra or Dzogchen Trekchöd.
