Lao Tzu’s view of the Beneficial Way
as described in the Tao Te Ching
is beautiful.
It is matriarchal, and flexible,
and vulnerable, and spontaneous.
Twelve centuries later
it was obscured by patriarchy.
Lao Tzu had described
the three treasures of the Tao,
through the lens of Yin;
as simplicity, patience, and compassion
whereas so-called “ancestor” Lu
taught from the Yang perspective,
insisting that the three treasures
were sexual-vitality, respiratory-energy, and intentional-spirit.
It was Lu’s teachings
that would lead to Yang’s
martial arts and internal alchemy.
Just as in “Revenge of the Sith”
we saw democracy die
to the sound of applause,
likewise Lu replaced
the water way of Lao Tzu
with the fire path of patriarchy.
