Taming our Inner Walter Sobchak - 30oct21


Come, let us discuss Dude-i-tation,

for it is the Jedi way.


Evolution selected for each of us

to have an inner Walter:

hurt, and wounded, and ready to erupt

in the name of justice.


He can NOT be successfully repressed

or ignored,

BUT he could be noticed.


Each inhalation

is literally wired to notice everything

from our inner fascist

to our inner dude.


Each exhalation

is set up to help our bodies relax

and our minds release,


even better than drinking a Caucasian

or bowling a frame.


Every morning and every evening

take a brisk walk around your block,


coordinating the mental recitation of “Notice this…”

with your inhalations

and silently and mentally reciting “relaxing!”

with your exhalations.


Do this for twenty, or forty, or even sixty minuets

and you’ll find peace

like Obi Wan Kenobi

wandering the sands of Tatooine.
