A local Sri Lankan Buddhist monk
explained to his novice
that he longed to be of service to others,
and also that he was afraid
that he would not get the opportunity to do so.
He confided
that if he could help at least one person,
then he felt he could die happy.
That put me in remembrance
of “Attack of the Clones”
when Obi Wan Kenobi used the Jedi mind trick
on a drug dealer with the words,
“You do not wish to sell me
any death sticks,
you wish to go home
and rethink your life.”
Perhaps in one of the upcoming
Disney pulse Star Wars series
we’ll get to see if the dealer of death sticks
managed to turn his life around.
Let us conclude
with a simple
