Gaze into the face of the newly anointed Lord Vader during the final quarter of “Revenge of the Sith” as he stands upon the volcanic world of Mustafar. Do so, and you will see power, and might, and cunning. But you will see no peace, you will see no joy. For if anger is the path TO the dark side then it is also the path AWAY from all that is truly fulfilling. What then are we to do with our rage? Are we to indulge it, excuse it, or repress it? Much better to notice it as we breath in, doing so vulnerably, viscerally, and passively. And then as our body exhales to choose physical relaxation, and as such, to set space to mentally release. The Buddha described this as the path of True knowledge and Liberation. Perhaps later, the Yoda we meet on Dagobah might label it differently; simply describing it as the light side.
