When I first heard of “setting boundaries”
it sounded rather unfriendly,
like I was erecting a barrier
between myself and others.
But in time I’ve come to see it
as something else, altogether.
I’m NOT separating myself from others,
I’m merely identifying the border
between that which is sustainable
that which is not.
I am resolving not to cross that boarder
and I prefer that others also refrain.
For if they won’t or they can’t
keep from doing or saying
that which will needlessly harm me
then what will I have left over
to be service to others?
Respecting our limitations
reminds me of very much Obi Wan Kenobi
who fought Darth Tyrannous
but turned down an opportunity to speak to the press.
Let us conclude
with a simple
call to action
In the Tibetan tradition Lamas are supported
not by monasteries but by students
as such the production of these livestreams,
